They must then go through a down time period where you must recharge their energy and/or wait for their abilities to cool down until they are ready to once again output that damage again. The main source of damage for Burst DPS is their **Elemental Burst** and/or **Elemental Skill**. These can often be boosted by **Elemental Reactions** from other characters or other skills. {% hint style="info" %} It is recommended you begin investing in your Burst DPS **after** any of your On-Field DPS have reached a level of damage that you are satisfied with but **before** your pure Support characters. {% endhint %} ## Burst DPS Only Teams It is possible to make teams with no On-Field DPS and instead fill the team with Burst DPS and supports. In general, this requires more characters to be invested to reach similar total team damage output. This is due to requiring other characters in the party to fill in for the down time experienced after your Burst DPS uses their skills and is waiting for them to be ready to be cast again. Alternatively, [Oneshot](/teams/work-in-progress/oneshot.md) teams rely on simply defeating enemies without needing to use the Burst DPS ability a second time. ## Burst DPS Characters {% hint style="warning" %} Check out the character's page to see how the character works and functions in a team. {% endhint %}

Character	Notes
Albedo	Primarily an Off-Field DPS, but Albedo's Elemental Burst can deal significant damage depending on gear and constellations.
Amber	Elemental Burst does a large amount of damage when built properly.
Ayaka	Can also be used as the On-Field DPS in the team.
Chongyun	Elemental Burst does a large amount of damage when built properly.
Eula	Can also be used as the On-Field DPS in the team.
Hu Tao	Can also be used as the On-Field DPS in the team.
Jean	Though her primary roles are Support and Healer, Jean's Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill can deal large amounts of damage when properly geared.
Keqing	Elemental Burst only deals significant damage when geared as an Electro On-Field DPS.
Kujou Sara	Primarily used as a buffer, but Kujou Sara's Elemental Burst can deal significant damage depending on gear and constellations.
Mona	Elemental Burst allows for significant damage to be dealt when built properly.
Ningguang	Can also be used as the On-Field DPS in the team.
Raiden Shogun	Elemental Burst (especially at C2) does a large amount of damage at max Resolve stacks and when she is built properly.
Tartaglia	Elemental Burst does large damage when built properly Can also be used as the On-Field DPS in the team.
Tighnari	Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill do large amounts of damage when built properly.
Traveler (Geo)	Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill do large amounts of damage when built properly.
Xinyan	Elemental Burst does large damage when built properly.
Yae	Elemental Skill does a large amount of damage when Sesshou Sakuras summoned with her Elemental Skill is On-Field.
Yelan	C6 transforms up to 5 of Yelan's Normal Attacks into greatly empowered Charged Attacks after using her Elemental Burst.
Zhongli	Elemental Burst does large damage when built properly.
